Our style of floristry...
Our style of floristry is contemporary, seasonal and natural incorporating lots of texture, using a wide variety of flowers and foliages. We have deliveries of fresh stock every day and so there’s always plenty to choose from. We use paper rather than cellophane, raffia and fabric ribbon instead of plastic ribbon to create a more natural sustainable product.
Our belief is that as flowers have a role in so many times of life and are needed to celebrate as well as commiserate, they should be individual, long lasting, beautifully presented and memorable.
Sweetpea used to be the stuff of daydreams
I originally trained at Brooksby Melton College where I gained Distinction in BTEC Level 3 National Award in Floristry (and the Best Student Award!). Having accumulated over 10 years' experience in retail floristry I was delighted to turn daydreams into reality and strike out on my own. Sweetpea opened in May 2018 in Newark on Trent and in March 2021, we expanded and moved our premises just next door to a bigger, light and airy space.
I love flowers and understand the impact, impression and difference they can make to someone's day. Therefore at Sweetpea we apply the same excellent customer care and attention to wrapping a small bunch of tulips as we do to the making of a bridal bouquet, a bespoke funeral tribute or a happy birthday bouquet.
